Tending the Inner Light
Staying with what remains
Dear friend,
Be mindful of who you share your inner world with… your feelings, your body, your life. These choices shape your energy in quiet but lasting ways.
Return to yourself often. Notice what feels clear and what feels clouded. When something asks to be tended to, meet it gently.
When illness dims your clarity, let something deeper hold you, and allow awareness to continue to unfold.
There are seasons when grief is not just about loss, but about what was never held…
Childhood wounds that linger. Caregiving that emptied you. And the quiet ache of family not showing up when you needed them most.
There are times we give in ways that are not easy, not because we have to, but because we choose to. Even then, that kind of giving asks something of us.
That kind of pain can feel isolating. Disorienting. Even invisible.
And still… something within you remains.
In Kabbalistic language, there is a part of the soul that is never fractured, never abandoned. Even when the body is tired, even when the heart is carrying more than it should, there is a point within that stays whole. The work is not to force healing, but to return, again and again, to that place.
We are in the days of the Omer, a time of quiet inner refinement, where each day invites us to meet another layer of ourselves with honesty and care. And this week’s Torah portion, Emor, speaks of those who are called to serve, and the boundaries they must keep in order to remain whole. It is a reminder that even those who give, who tend, who carry, are not meant to hold everything alone.
There are limits. There are needs. There are moments when what has been given must also be received. This is where the work begins—not in fixing, but in staying. In learning how to be with what is here, without abandoning yourself.
If it would support you, I’ve created a library of meditations you can return to—touching into family and belonging, grief and forgiveness, Kabbalah, the body, intimacy, and personal clarity. To name a few. You’re welcome to explore what meets you where you are: https://insig.ht/PDBSj5Im7Vb
Tomorrow at 12pm, I’ll be holding a 15-minute Live Support for Grief and Loss. You are welcome to join here: https://insig.ht/e7va7Y2aG2b
May you be held in what feels unheld, and may something within you remain steady as you move through it.
With care,
Melinda
